As a Traditional Land Use (TLU) Specialist, you will lead the design and delivery of TLU studies in partnership with Indigenous communities across British Columbia. Your work will support environmental baseline assessments for a variety of development projects.
Using a respectful and culturally sensitive approach, you will gather and analyze TLU data through interviews, workshops, and fieldwork, and incorporate Indigenous knowledge into project planning and regulatory processes.
This role offers the opportunity to mentor junior staff, support business development initiatives, and contribute to the growth and refinement of the company’s TLU program. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, represent the company in client meetings and community engagements, and play a key role in building meaningful relationships.
Our ideal candidate brings over five years of experience conducting Traditional Land Use (TLU) studies, Indigenous engagement, or related work in British Columbia. You have a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Indigenous Studies, Geography, Environmental Studies, or a related field. You have a strong understanding of TLU principles, Indigenous rights, and regulatory frameworks, and are skilled in facilitating interviews, leading teams, and managing projects from start to finish. Your approach is grounded in cultural respect and collaboration, with demonstrated experience working sensitively with Indigenous communities. Knowledge of Indigenous Cultural Safety, BC DRIPA, and the TRC Calls to Action informs your work and strengthens your ability to contribute meaningfully to community-driven and regulatory processes.
Position requires: Criminal Record Check, Valid Driver’s License
Language Requirement: Fluent in English

Wage Range: This is an Hourly position with a target hiring range of $43.08 to $53.00 per hour. Final placement within this range will typically be between the minimum and midpoint and is determined based on each candidate’s unique combination of skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. We also consider factors such as market conditions and internal equity to support fair and transparent compensation practices.
Location: We have offices in several locations in western Canada, however, successful candidates who reside outside those areas can be based out of their existing home, if preferred.
