As a Laboratory Archaeologist, you will oversee the processing, analysis, and cataloging of archaeological materials, ensuring work meets professional and regulatory standards. The role supports field archaeologists, project managers, and permit holding archaeologists by maintaining efficient lab workflows, high-quality data management, and consistent treatment of archaeological materials. Collaboration with management, First Nations partners, and other stakeholders will be important to maintaining professional, cultural, and safety standards. This role will be an office- and field-based position, whereby time is split between executing laboratory responsibilities and working as a field archaeologist, depending on project needs.
Our ideal candidate has three to five years of experience in archaeological laboratories or cultural resource management, with strong skills in artifact processing, cataloging, and analysis. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills will be key to your success in this role. You will help maintain lab standards, ensure accuracy, and support junior staff through mentorship and guidance. Familiarity with cultural heritage legislation and digital cataloguing tools is an asset. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a related field.

Wage Range: This is an Hourly position with a target hiring range of $35.60 to $43.60 per hour. Final placement within this range will typically be between the minimum and midpoint and is determined based on each candidate’s unique combination of skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. We also consider factors such as market conditions and internal equity to support fair and transparent compensation practices.
Location: The successful candidates must reside in or be willing to move to one of the locations
