Heritage Resources Project Manager

What Your Day Will Look Like 

As a Project Manager, you will oversee projects from planning through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget while aligning with Ecofor’s project management practices and professional standards. You will develop project workplans, manage budgets and resources, coordinate fieldwork, and monitor project progress to ensure successful outcomes. In this role, you will provide leadership and mentorship to project team members, supporting collaboration, clear communication, and professional development. You will also act as the primary point of contact for clients and partners, maintaining strong relationships with Indigenous groups, local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders. This position includes responsibility for maintaining accurate project documentation, monitoring financial performance, and addressing potential risks. You will also promote and uphold Ecofor’s health, safety, and environmental standards across all project activities. 

What You’ll be Responsible for 

  • Develop comprehensive workplans outlining projects, activities, timelines and resource requirements.  
  • Develop, manage and monitor project budgets. Accountable for overseeing budgets within assigned projects. 
  • Plan and manage projects safely and effectively to meet cost, schedule and quality in accordance with Ecofor’s Project Management practices, processes, and procedures. 
  • Accountable for the adherence to Ecofor’s health, safety, and environmental program on assigned projects 
  • Ensure direct reports and workers on assigned project(s) comply with all safety expectations, including the delivery of appropriate safety training and certifications, and providing all necessary tools for workers to complete the job safely. 
  • Facilitate communication between senior management and staff, effectively communicate expectations, changes and feedback. 
  • Technical leadership and mentorship within a team environment 
  • Fostering positive relationships with local communities, Indigenous groups, governmental agencies and other partners. 
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and working collaboratively within Ecofor’s corporate culture. 

What Will Help You Succeed: 

Our ideal candidate brings several years of experience in project management, with five to ten years preferred, and experience in the archaeological or environmental field considered an asset. A CAPM or other relevant project management certification would be a strong asset. You are a highly organized and motivated professional who can balance client needs with internal priorities while managing multiple projects in a dynamic work environment. Your experience of managing budgets, timelines, and client expectations supports successful project delivery and strong client relationships. You communicate effectively with teams and external partners and are comfortable addressing challenges through conflict resolution, contract management, and appropriate issue escalation. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools will further support success in this role. 

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in Project Management; experience within the archaeological/ environmental field is an asset.  
  • CAPM or relevant project management certification is a strong asset. 
  • Ability to balance client needs with internal priorities and resources. 
  • Proven success in managing budgets, timelines, and client expectations. 
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, contract management and issue escalation. 
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and applies them confidently in project planning and execution. 
  • Leads moderately complex projects with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Adapts project management processes to fit scope, risks, and organizational needs. 
  • Makes informed decisions that balance short- and long-term outcomes. 
  • Guides project teams through change, competing priorities, and tight timelines. 

Position requires: Criminal Record Check, Valid Driver’s License 

Language Requirement: Fluent in English

Wage Range: This is an Hourly position with a target hiring range of $43.08 to $58.30 per hour. Final placement within this range will typically be between the minimum and midpoint and is determined based on each candidate’s unique combination of skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. We also consider factors such as market conditions and internal equity to support fair and transparent compensation practices. 

Location: The successful candidates must reside in or be willing to move to one of the locations
mentioned above.
