About the Opportunity

Ecofor is currently seeking a Heritage Resource Manager to join our team in Fort St John, BC. This position is salary and will start in June.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing archaeological projects and assisting the other senior management in planning and coordinating field work.
  • Communicating and meeting with clients regarding project schedules, work progress, budgets and reporting.
  • Developing a workplan to successfully complete projects, including determining the resources (time, money, personnel, equipment, etc.) required.
  • Obtaining qualified consultants to work on projects as appropriate (complete/manage sub-contracts).
  • Communicating the workplan to the project teams with clearly defined goals and expectations.
  • Reviewing quality of work completed with project teams, including project managers, permit holders and field directors, on a regular basis to ensure project standards are met.
  • Reviewing and revising the project schedule with management and other staff.
  • Monitoring and approving all budgeted project expenditures.
  • Monitoring cash flow to senior management and the finance department.
  • Communicating and meeting with Indigenous groups and communities.
  • Communicating with regulatory bodies such as the Archaeology Branch and BC Energy Regulator.
  • Working with the business development team to identify new business opportunities and potential clients.
  • Ensuring project deliverables are on time, within budget and to the desired quality level.
  • Conducting field assessments and travel for work as required.
  • Technical leadership and mentorship within a team environment.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and working collaboratively within Ecofor’s corporate culture.

More About You

To qualify, you will need a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or related discipline. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and Registered Professional Archaeologist status (RPA or RPCA) would be assets.

Candidates with the following skills and experience will be considered:

  • Knowledge of the BC Heritage Conservation Act and provincial regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Yukon and Alberta regulations would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Cultural Resource Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to grow business, and work closely with other professionals and environmental discipline leads.
  • Experience working in partnership with First Nations communities and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise instructions to project teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adjust to a fluid schedule.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills

Due to the nature of the role, you must have a valid Driver’s License.
