
Ecofor provided environmental support for the construction of a mine spillway designed to convey large flood events downstream from a mine tailings pond. The team delivered environmental oversight throughout construction, including planning for instream works, wildlife management, and erosion and sediment control. Ecofor also prepared key project documentation, including the Project Environmental Protection Plan, turbidity monitoring plan, and water management plan, based on the project’s Construction Environmental Management Plan.
Qualified Environmental Professionals conducted routine site inspections, supported in-water works, and maintained regular documentation and communication with the project team. The team also supported the contractor’s environmental monitor by providing direction, technical support, and mentorship. Additional services included nesting bird surveys, and amphibian surveys and salvage.
